"Official" tasting notes and background information.
The beans are large, with a wonderful milk chocolate colouring.
I am getting a very light hint of chocolate off of them when inhaling. Curious to see how this translates into the cup.
Brewing Method AeroPress
I am following James Hoffman's "The Ultimate AeroPress Technique". 11 grams of coffee and 200 grams of water. Steep 2 minutes, then swirl and let settle for 30 seconds before fully pressing it through.
I am not getting any kind of fragrance off of the brewed cup. It has a "clean" slightly orange tinge to it.
I am getting a lot of sweetness off of it with some earthy notes at the end, very slight hint of bitterness on the first sip.
As it cools the bitterness completely recedes. The tasting notes mention "cream" and I think I am getting a bit of a hit of that? No Mango though and I misinterpreted the tobacco notes with earthy.
It's okay, but did not really wow me.
Brewing Method French Press
Again, no fragrance off of the brewed cup and.... similar on the taste profile.
Great disappointment. I did compare notes with a friend of mine and he has a similar experience for the last few coffees. A shame really.
