This is why we can't have nice things

For several months now the city has closed Beach Ave. eastbound to allow more separation between cyclists and pedestrians. There are cones and signs everywhere and yet, today I had a car come at me headon in the closed lane.

I mean, in typical Vancouver fashion, there was a piece of paved surface, so it must be for cars. No other explanation is possible (yes, I am being sarcastic here).

Bonus

There are no left hand turns allowed on Burrard & Pacific. Does not deter this "professional driver" though.
